The NZBA has a present membership of around 800.  Membership of the NZBA is open to every person who is the holder of a current practising certificate to practice as a Barrister in New Zealand.  In some circumstances a person other than the above and who is enrolled as a barrister or solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, upon a request in writing and with the approval of the Bar Council, can become an Associate Member of the NZBA.
