The NZBA is co-hosting the Sentencing Advocacy Competition in Wellington with the Ministry of Justice. 

Entry is limited to 16 competitors.  Registration closes on 16 July 2010 with preliminary rounds taking place on 26 and 27 July, and the semi-finals on 29 July.  

The date of the final is Wednesday, 4 August at the Wellington High Court and it will be open to the public.  The Judges of the Wellington High Court will judge the competition and provide feedback. 

The competition will be followed by a function with drinks and nibbles where the winner will be announced.

The winner will receive $1000 sponsored by the New Zealand Bar Association.

Practitioners interested in attending the final will be welcomed.
