Jane joined the independent bar in 2012 after a number of years in the public sector.  Prior to joining Clifton Chambers, Jane was the chief legal adviser at the Treasury and before that a corporate and commercial partner at Bell Gully.  She provides public sector advice to commercial entities and commercial advice on complex transactions to the public sector.  She has undertaken a number of independent inquiries and reviews for government departments, most recently assisting the Auditor-General in relation to her enquiry into the Saudi Arabia Food Security Partnership.  She has a number of governance roles including Chief Commissioner at the Transport Accident Investigation Commission, Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee of the Parliamentary Counsel Office and Chair of the Ballet Foundation of New Zealand.
