Criminal practitioners sought to judge preliminary rounds of Victoria University Advocacy Sentencing Competition

For the second year running,  the Ministry of Justice, Victoria University Law Students’ Society and the New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture will be hosting a sentencing advocacy competition for law students at the Wellington High Court. The NZBA believes that this competition serves a very useful purpose in giving students a greater appreciation of criminal law and practice.

We request the assistance of criminal law practitioners to serve as judges in the preliminary and semi-final rounds of the competition on Monday 13 August at 5:30 pm and Thursday 16 August at 5:30 pm, at the Wellington High Court.  Ten judges are required for these rounds.

If you are able to help with this competition, please confirm your availability by Thursday 12 July to Hiba Hussain by clicking here.

Full details of the procedure for the competition is attached below.
