Our resource management system needs an overhaul. It is failing both the environment and the economy. Fundamental and wide-ranging reforms are in the wind.

The New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture is hosting a panel discussion, following the release by the Environmental Defence Society (EDS) of its report on phase 1 of its resource management reform project, which takes a first principles look at how New Zealand’s resource management system could be improved. At this event the NZBA will be asking a panel of leading experts on the topic:

  • What is so wrong with the current system?
  • What we can do to fix it?
  • What this will mean for you or your business in the decades ahead?

Panel members include Gary Taylor QSO, Chair and Executive Director of EDS, Stephen Selwood, CEO of Infrastructure New Zealand and Martin Williams, barrister and resource management expert. The panel will be moderated by Bronwyn Carruthers, barrister and resource management expert.

This is a great opportunity to hear more on this important topic and for networking with members of the Bar, in-house legal counsel, solicitors and clients. Drinks and canapes will be served from 5.00pm - 5.40pm, with the panel discussion following.

The NZBA would like to thank the ANZ for their sponsorship of the venue for this event.
