Christchurch Shootings - Cancellation of Silks Dinner
The New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture has cancelled the celebratory dinner for the Silks it was holding in Christchurch on Friday 15 March 2019 following the mass shooting in the city.
NZ Bar Association President, Kate Davenport QC, says the appalling shootings in the city this afternoon make holding the event totally inappropriate.
“The NZ Bar Association is shocked and deeply saddened at today’s unprecedented act of violence for this country. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families and for everyone who is dealing with these such hateful and despicable incidents,” says Ms Davenport.
