2019 has seen issues of corporate conduct and related governance move into centre stage, with the Haynes Royal Commission in Australia, and Reserve Bank and Financial Markets Authority inquiries in New Zealand on banking and insurance misconduct. This has resulted in increased regulatory focus, proceedings and further legislation announced, with high public and media scrutiny.  With the collapse of CBL and Mainzeal, and challenges to regulatory proceedings in Australia, the Courts are continuing to address issues of conduct and the actions that regulators are taking.  Litigation funding is providing a further dynamic.

The New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture has arranged an Expert Panel of Antonia Watson, Acting CEO, and David Bricklebank, General Counsel, ANZ Banking Group New Zealand, Scott McKinnon, Manager, Banking and FMI Supervision, Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Jane Anderson QC and Michael Webb from the Bar, to discuss some of these issues.

The evening will be in a panel/Q&A format and be chaired by Kate Davenport QC, President of the New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture.

This is a great opportunity to hear more on this important topic and for networking with members of the Bar, In-house Legal Counsel, law firms and clients. Drinks and canapes will be served from 5.00pm - 5.30pm and following the completion of the presentations.
