2021 Review of Marsh / NZBA Personal Indemnity Insurance Scheme
In early 2021, the Bar Council decided to review the Marsh / NZBA PII Scheme. The Council asked barrister, Michael Webb, to lead this work. Michael was able to secure the help of Michael Robertson of Robertsons, who specialises in professional indemnity insurance law. They liaised with the President, and our Executive Director, to form the review group.
Before outlining the results of the review and the ongoing work that we are undertaking, I can’t stress enough how valuable Michael Webb and Michael Robertson’s work has been. Their guidance has been fundamental to the changes that have been introduced, and the decisions that Council has made on placement of the scheme. The Bar Association is deeply indebted to them both.

Membership Criteria
Full membership of the NZBA is open to every person who is the holder of a current New Zealand practising certificate as a Barrister Sole.
In some circumstances, persons other than barristers sole may become Associate Members of the NZBA
