2018 Annual Conference Optional Activity - Redwoods Treewalk and Geysers
Redwoods Treewalk is a 600-metre long, eco-tourism walk in the heart of Rotorua’s Redwood Forest. Consisting of a series of 23 suspension bridges, traversing 22 majestic Redwood trees that are more than 117-years-old. The height of the walkway ranges between 6 m and 20 m, including glass viewing panels allowing an elevated view of the forest below. This option replaces the Kiwi experience at Rainbow Springs which is unfortunately being refurbished in September 2018.
Then travel to Te Puia, the Centre for New Zealand's Māori Culture and Geothermal Wonders (venue for Saturday evening’s formal dinner) for a private hosting through the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, explore the Te Whakarewarewa geothermal valley and enjoy steamed canapes and bubbles at the Pohutu Marquee.

Each member may book one optional activity ticket.
Once you are at the conference changes to different optional activity may not be possible.
Special Equipment and Experience Level:
- Comfortable walking shoes, warm clothes and rain gear.
- Grade 1 - To be able to treewalk, customers must have a reasonable level of fitness and all treewalkers must be able to walk unaided. This is a short walk but has some stairs for access. There is a maximum weight of 120 kg for any one individual.
Transport:
Transfers are included. A bus will leave from the Novotel at 1.00pm precisely and return you to the Novotel by 5.00pm.

Lunch:
A bagged lunch will be available at the hotel upon departure. Please collect it before you leave.

If you are unable to attend the conference, and have advised a substitute is attending in your place, that substitute can contact the NZBA in writing by Friday 14 September 2018 to change to an alternative optional activity prior to conference (subject to availability). Click here to contact the NZBA. No refunds are provided for optional activities.
While every effort will be made to conduct this conference according to the programme, the NZBA reserves the right to vary, amend or cancel any part of the conference if circumstances arise which require such action and the NZBA shall not be held responsible for any loss, liability, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any person as a consequence.
